Are You Low-carbon Today?

The earth's glaciers are receding, sea levels are rising; drastic weather changes occur in local areas within a short period of time, and the frequency of high temperatures, heat waves, tropical storms, etc. is increasing... These scenes and news are no longer in our lives. Very rare. Maybe we see what others have experienced, but in fact, we ourselves are also experiencing it. Life on earth is suffering from excessive "carbon emissions."

As the global economy develops, per capita carbon emissions have also increased significantly. Bill Gates mentioned in his book "Climate Economy and the Future of Humanity" that "it would take 50 acres (about 0.2 square kilometers) of trees planted in the tropics to absorb the greenhouse gas emissions produced by an average American in his lifetime.

According to Multiplied by the U.S. population, this number would require planting 25 million square miles, equivalent to half the world’s land area.” Reasoning based on this data, if each of us can reduce the amount of "carbon emissions" in our daily lives, then this number will definitely be staggering!

When we choose a product, it is also a current trend to consider low carbon.

Take the socks we usually wear as an example. When buying socks, we consider more about its material and comfort. Most of the socks on the market are cotton socks and chemical fiber socks. However, do you know that just from the material? , the carbon emissions of these materials are far higher than those of pure hemp socks.

Each ton of hemp produced emits only 544 kg of CO2.

Each ton of cotton produced emits 1,680 kg of CO2.

The carbon emissions of producing synthetic fibers are 10-20 times higher than those of natural fibers.

Hemp fiber is durable, and hemp socks are even more durable. The service life of a pair of pure hemp socks is twice as long as that of a pair of pure cotton and linen. For example, you need to consume 20 pairs of pure cotton socks a year, but you only need 10 pairs or less of pure linen socks, which also reduces emissions in terms of consumption.

Did you know socks are recyclable?

We wear worn-out socks as recyclable waste and recycle them to reduce carbon emissions and protect the environment. The raw material of pure hemp socks is low-carbon hemp fiber. When recycled, it degrades quickly, does not damage the soil environment, and is beneficial to improving the soil. Turning waste into treasure is also a way to reduce carbon emissions.
